    As a property owner in Archbald Borough you will receive the following 3 real estate tax bills per year:

    Archbald Borough Real Estate Taxes

    Current millage rate is 29.5, which consists of 26 mills for General Purpose, and special taxes of 1.0 mills for paving, 1.0 mills for street lighting, 0.5 mills for ambulance support, 0.5 mills for recreation, and 0.5 mills for police pension.  Tax bills are sent out in early February.  The tax bill is discounted 2% if paid by April 1st, if not paid at discount, the base rate applies until May 31st.  After May 31st all unpaid tax bills have a 10% penalty added.  All taxes not paid by December 31st are turned over to the Lackawanna County Tax Claim Bureau.

    A yearly garbage fee of $300.00 is included in your Borough Tax Bill.

    If a mortgage company pays the taxes, it is the property owner’s responsibility to send the tax bill to the mortgage company.

    Valley View School District Taxes

    Current millage is 129.79.  Tax bills are sent out in early July.  The school tax year is a fiscal year running from July 1st through June 30th the following year.  This tax bill is discounted by 2% if paid by September 1st, if not paid at discount, the base rate applies until November 1st.  After November 1st, all unpaid tax bills have a 10% penalty added.  Any school real estate tax bills that are not paid by April 15th are turned over to the Lackawanna County Tax Claim Bureau.

    Lackawanna County Real Estate Taxes

    Current millage rate is 60.11.  Tax bills are sent out from the County in February and are paid to Lackawanna County.  Payment options are listed on your tax bill.  They cannot be paid at Archbald Borough.  For important dates and further information, please contact the Scranton Single Tax Office at 570-963-6756 or scrantontaxoffice.org .
