Waste Removal
The Borough of Archbald contracts trash collection to a private hauler, J. P. Mascaro. If you have any problems you may contact them directly at 1-800-243-7575.
Pickup Days
MONDAY: Eynon, Sturges, and Wildcat Road, plus all homes between Eynon and Kennedy Drive from Main Street, Eynon to Maria Boulevard(including South Cougar Drive).
TUESDAY: All of Main Street, Archbald, Nebraska Section, and Valley View Trailer Court plus all homes east of Main Street from Kennedy Drive to Jermyn including The Highlands.
WEDNESDAY: All streets bordering Jessup Borough over to Columbus Drive and all street west of Main Street, Archbald up to Bank Street (including Haley Nicole Drive and Peggy Drive).
Updated Garbage Recyc by Street- CopyJ. P. Mascaro holidays are New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (4th of July), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Trash is collected in the Borough on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If a Holiday falls on one of these days, collection will be one day late for the rest of the week from the day of the Holiday forward.
Provisions
There is a six can/bag limit per unit. Please have trash out the night before the pick up day in an area clearly visible to collections. Do not keep anything near trash you do not want discarded. Please make sure containers are not overweight (50 pound limit).
Items not accepted on normal trash pick ups are ashes, cardboard, Freon-containing appliances, car parts, batteries, tires, electronics and construction materials.
You may call J. P. Mascaro at 800-243-7575 to make arrangements for construction disposal separately from the municipal pickup. Special rates may be available for your convenience.
Bulk Items
You may put out two items per week per household. Bulk items include things like sofas, water heaters, stoves, washers, dryers, etc. Mattresses and box springs MUST be wrapped in plastic when put to curb.
Cardboard
Cardboard is recyclable and is collected by Archbald Borough DPW on your recycling day. Smaller pieces may be placed in the blue recycling bin. Large boxes must be broken down and placed to the curb with your recycling. If not broken down, it will be left at the curb.
Freon Containing Items
Please call the Borough Office at 876-1800 to arrange a special pick up ($25 charge) for Freon-containing appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers.
No Hazardous Waste
Car batteries, gasoline, motor oil, pesticides, oil-based paints and other toxic hazardous materials will not be picked up. Call Lackawanna County’s recycling office at 570-963-2017 for information on disposing of these materials. Many auto stores accept motor oil and car batteries.

Ashes
Ashes are picked up by the Borough DPW on every Tuesday during winter months and then every other Tuesday during the summer months.
Businesses
Businesses are excluded from the Borough’s municipal waste contract and must contract separately with a hauler for their waste removal needs.
