The Borough of Archbald is located
in Northeastern Pennsylvania and is
part of Lackawanna County in the Blue Ridge Mountain range. The entire
region is about 100 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia. Two
major highways, US Route Six (also known as the Casey Highway) and
Business Route Six connect the borough directly to Interstate 81,
Interstate 380 and the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
The Borough is the
seventh largest in Pennsylvania, with 11,400 acres covering 17.8 square
miles. The Lackawanna River flows through the borough along part of
Main Street and is a Trophy Trout Fishing area. Lackawanna County
operates a railroad that runs through the borough and connects the
National Steamtown Railroad Museum with the Carbondale Railroad Yard.
